Summit Point in a Cloud of Dust Today
First time I've been this close to such a dense cloud of dust. Makes you wonder what it's hiding....

Wow, that's REALLY scary. On a different note, I may have a chance to run Summit Point later this year. Do you have any hot lap footage to share or know where I can find it on the internet??

Woww; was that the last black session? I was at the event but I haven't heard of any off, except one mechanical off and one Turbo spin in blue group. This is beyond scary.

Thanks, it seems PCA does it a little differently in different parts of the country.

Not to criticize, as I understand that hindsight is 20/20, I was not there to see the situation, etc.
However, at a DE, you should have checked your mirrors and considered arm up, drastic slowing or pulling off the side of the course until the cloud thinned out. The risk of driving into a dust cloud is just too high for a DE. Again, I am not criticizing, maybe there was not time to do that, but just some food for thought.

Sunday, he was in the carousel from what I can see coming into T9. Normally, you turn in early when the car goes neutral. It would be pretty difficult to pull left if not dangerous. Slowing was a good idea as was staying far left. I think Chris was where he should be and a little luck did not hurt.
BTW, for that car to go off there and not be a mechanical, would show me the driver needs an instructor back in the car. You never turn left there if the car is not settled. I would have spent time with the drover following the spin.
