Will you have time to fix my fender? Or will that be on the September trip?

Thanks.

yep, we can take care of you - had David send you an email. Did you talk to the dealership about that incident?

Talking to the dealer would be fruitless. It was bad enough that they left the car out in the 115 degree heat all day and warped the CF on the dash. That they are handling for me and understand that the car should not have sat out. I have no way to prove the bra problem.

I am happy to pay for the replacement piece and installation, no problem. Thanks.

Do you all think I would be safe with the 3m applied by a local company that has been installing for 6 yrs. ? I saw their work on two Vipers and you couldn't tell there was film.

When all is said is said and done (imo) 3M is the best product.

If you want a great installer in the Bay area with competitive pricing, PM mail me (no financial interest)

Premier is over priced for the quality of product delivered, yes, they did one of my cars.

If they disagree, they are free to publish their prices here for all to compare. If their prices turn out to be competitive, since I used them about a year ago, then I have done them a great service.

It is tiring to read some of the the mutual "lovefests' that go on here (among sponsors (caveat emptor)). Especially since most users come to try and obtain objective advice.

If you are in the Bay Area I can show samples of various works, and you can pick the suppier that you like best. Premier is not my first choice, their quality is OK and their prices are poor value. However, I will show you cars without disclosing the provider, and you can pick what you like best.

Well everyone has a right to their opinion. Mine comes from my own personal experience. I just had my E63 protected by Premier, cost be about $800, and the install is a kit, but still complex and they take good care to do it right. I had another shop install a product (not 3M) on my M5, and it was pure crap from the get go and cost me $600 four years ago. If the originator is in NM, well, then its a moot point. Get a local. However for my $, Premier is still a good find in my opinion.

From personal experience, there's nobody in the bay area that's better. From my initial research, it seems they are the choice for 6speedonliners and ferrari owners. My friend had his done by another company about a year ago for his g35 coupe. The bra was bubbling and had way too many parts for just the front bumper. Dealer was selling the 3m stuff to me so I saw it, but looked like leopard skin. I'll be going to Sharkwerks / Carlsen drive, so those who would like to see the fantastic job that Premier did for my car, come on out. I'm sure many of the cars there are done by them as well. bttw, I had the whole hood and whole front panels covered along witht he nose.

I just want to make sure that what I said didn't come over as a lovefest- if it did then I do appologize. I have no financial interest and am completely independant. I must admit I am not a clear film expert by any means and my RS is the first car I have had wrapped. In fact, the decision was made due to the large number of customers that I have that got their work done over at Premier. It was through their recommendations and the work I have seen on customer cars that made me decide to go with Premier. I asked for no quarter and got none either and in other words I paid just like anyone else would and was happy to do so. I'm just happy that they were able to do a good job on mine since the GT3 bumper is very tricky. I've honestly had other folks who have had various cars wrapped comment on how well my car turned out. I looked into the 3M and although what I saw looked decent enough the effect seemed to show some type of orange peel-like look. I don't know enough about the process to say if it's the film or installer? I don't actually know the name of the film (is it Madico?) that Premier uses but I know it's not 3M.

I do not own any part of premier, I do not get paid by premier, I've only gotten one car wrapped that was my own and I paid for it. I have no agenda or any reason to be speaking highly of them other than I was just like any other customer who was really happy with the end result. Hence I have no qaulms about recommending them. Obviously there is a lot of choice in the Bay Area and that's great. I was/am just happy with mine as are a lot of other people. And if what I said came over in some other way I do appologize. I am trying to simply support or give a good reference to what I believe was/is quality work that was done on my car.

Sam and Co., I would like to thank you gentlemen again for the awesome work on my TT and other current and past cars.

There is no subsitute. If any of you are wanting more references, check with the members on the 6 and you will be hard presed to find (1) non believer.

See my avatar, the entire car is wrapped. "That's right" I will be at the concorso and if time allows, the Carlsen meet. Feel free to examine Premier's work.

I would transport my car (if I had to) cross counrty knowing that it's in the hands of Professional at Premier.

I don't like the fact that my thread got hijacked to a "How good is Premier" I don't give a **** about Premier, I'm not in NOCAL and not driving there for an install. People say there good so lets leave it at that.

Back to my situation being in NM, there is a company that's been doing clear for over six years, their work looks flauless.
I'm still not CLEAR on what clear material to use. If there is a product that is superior over 3m or what ever i want it and if the installer doesn't carry it I'll get it for them to install.

What material is best with no orange peel, color variation or nicking?

If I remember correctly, I paid Premier $2500 (it might have been $2000) to do my car (not identiified so those that want to do an objective comparison can still do so). A lot of obvious areas were not covered, that would have cost extra. The value was poor, the quality was OK and the choice of material (not 3M) second rate based upon my choice. But, you pay your money and you take your chances. I learned!

If I had paid cash (as opposed to cheque) I could have a better discount...but I don't deal in "cash" for obvious reasons.

I know of others who have paid less, and provide glowing recommendations.

Like I always say:

Caveat Emptor.

The purpose of the Rennlist community (imo) is to help members with objective information, and not promote individual businesses. That said, there are many fine sponsors who provide value on many levels.

A fine Sponsor will make the value transparent, and be consistent (imo).

Why dont you express in more detail how you do not give a XYZ about a board sponsor?

You simply asked who is the best and you recieved answers. Maybe you should proceed with a search within NM and the surrounding areas/states. Local references and local car enthusiasts forms (if available) might help.

In regards to the film and if the installer carriers it: (I do not claim to be a film expert) I would only think that most installers specialize in one film (been wrong before) becouse of the time it takes to understand the charaters of it and perfecting the install.

Regarding your other Q's, I have no OP/color variation or chips anywhere the film has been applied. Maybe search automotive paint protection films for more A's or simply trust your local installer with the 3M, 6 years is no joke!

Best of luck whyb2nd, I gotta go pack for the concorso.
