Default Ultimate Motorwerks new Race exhaust

I have been working on the new exhaust for almost a year now.. Trying/testing different combinations, not compromising on flow and sound quality. The new exhaust has some nice features, full 3" mandrel bent aircraft manufactured stainless, German made 130mm 100 cell cats, lightweight rebuildable and sound adjustable mufflers.

For the track I am supplying removable test pipes that allows the owner to remove the lower mufflers. This feature allows us to drop a few pounds and at the same time gives us some extra dB's for the track.

Consistant with the factory exhaust I wanted to have a balance tube, and stepping back in time in the 60's and 70's (still used today)many muscle and drag cars utilized full "X" over dual exhaust systems. A few benifits while using gentle radiused "X" transitions, optimze the exhaust pulses which translates into more Torque and HP. Another benifit of the radiused center "X" crossover is that it improves noise canellation. Drone or opposing sound wave pulses in the exhaust cancel themselves against each other to lower the dB level. As a benifit the overall tone of the exhaust is improved.

Kevin, wow! Work of art!

I can understand the x pipe from a sound/drone cancellation point of view, but not for performance. I was under the impression that the best exhaust for performance in a Turbo was a straight pipe...

Nevertheless... what an awesome work!

I need to find a way to make, legally of course, more money...

Wachuko, most of us want sound dampening?? With this design there is a small sacrifice on performance in the need for the dreadful drone. Most of the successful 996TT exhausts use a chambered baffle design. The exhaust has to turn 180 degrees. This is done with sharp radiuses in order to fit under the bumper cover. This new system/design minimizes the sharp turns, which include the 5" cats gently transitioning to the first 3" radius.

Looking forward to the sound clips as I have yet to hear a blown motor that sounds "good".....

As usual Kevin, your stuff looks beautiful.

That really looks nice Kevin.
What are you using for sound attenuation in the muffler sections...I assume perf metal with some sort of fiberglass?

There is "no" fiberglass or wool used for dampening. It is ceramic and stainless steel.

That thing is so pretty, I would just leave the bumper cover off. Hope it will be quiet enough for us sissies who drive the car every day.

kevin: is this just for racing application only or can this be used on a daily driver as well. i presume from the info you provided is that there is little to no drone. i installed a cargraphics exhaust and just recently started to experience an annoying drone at around approximately 2k rpm that i really dislike, espcially when driving with the windows closed. also what about tips...please post more info when it becomes available.

thanks and wish you the best on your new products. i know that these things do not come easy...

The stock x50 exhaust drones at 2k for me. If this is better than that, I am interested.
