Default Where is my power steering pump?

After reading the thread about Dave1200's car burning from the leaking power steering pump and/or fittings, I would like to inspect mine. Where is it located and is this a motor in or motor out kind of repair?

Power steering and clutch actuation are both supported by the same hydraulic pump (A). The pump is driven by a V-belt. Replacing the pump can be accomplished quite easily with the engine in the car.

You can check the fluid level (posted pick). I do not believe you can inspect to see if it is OK...It just needs to be replaced if you hear the whining sound.

Just got our car back from the dealer, they replaced the power steering pump. By the time I got home (closest dealer is 1+ hours away), the whining was back. When I push the clutch in the TONE of the whine changes but it doesn't stop.

What's wrong now? I called and they said they are going to contact Porsche to see what else can cause it.

They replaced:

Power Steering Pump
P/S O Ring x 2
P/S Bracket
CHF 202 (?)

They claim the car is safe to drive with the new pump but it is still whining loudly (I think only when it is warmed up)... Any ideas?

Direct from the workshop manual:

"Only Pentosin CHF 11 S may be used in the reservoir."

Is CHF 202 different? This was done at a Porsche dealer (Euroclassics in Richmond VA)....

From my understanding CHF 202 is a replacement for 11S and is fully compatible (can even be mixed)...so you are OK.
