Am I missing something or does that look like a hybrid MY99/MY02?

Funny, it really seems that the car went through a full outside MK1 - MK2 conversion. However, if you look at the steering wheel (I believe all MK2 996 had a 3-spoke wheel) and the gauge, then it's clearly a MK1.

Look at the history.
She's kinda had a rough life.......I see 2 accidents......interesting though.....the 1st front-end "severe" incident (with another car) was when she was new in 98 (supposedly).
Those headlamps didn't hit the market til fall 2000 on the Turbo.......and that whole front til 2002. One thing for sure, there's probably some good stories that go with the car.
Best thing here.......the guy that vacumes carpets at Texas Auto......really has cool technique.

The real question is: Who would buy that car, even at $26,800?
There are so many known issues that the unknowns are frightening. In the still-depreciating 996 price market, this mystery Carrera might be worth $19k if you had guts. But almost $27k? No way.

There's always 1 sucker. The dealers know that.

This is a 99 car that has had the headlight upgrade. I have seen this car in fact and it actually looks pretty decent. To me this would be a purchase for someone who wanted to spend 20-23k on a project or track car. If you crashed it or blew it up who cares? The interior is pretty decent on it. The key here is knowing what you've got. You do not go buying this as your "dream car". You'd buy it to have something of a decent play car or track car or something of that nature.

it is a 99.....and they did a front conversion...like I did. But they didn't do the inside! I changed (almost) all graphite grey interior plastic to the smooth black and ofcours that 4 spoke steering wheel is a dead giveaway. Car is from Texas and might even be a "floater" and "submarine"
