Just bought OEM litronic headlights

What do y'all think?
I have halogens currently and I don't know if these come with existing wiring. I read that the wiring connectors for litronics are different than halogens(Can't locate that thread) . Hopefully I can make them work. I don't care if the self leveling and the headlight washer do not work.
Also...I am assuming that the high beam on these is standard halogen and that these are not the "bi-xenon". Can anyone tell by looking at the pic?

These are NOT plug and play on the 02+ models. It is VERY expensive to make the upgrade to these as there is much more than just swapping out.....unlike the 99-01 litronics.

That is unfortunate since the install on my 00 couldn't have been easier. Best of luck with your project.

I guess it would help if I explained why......
The Litronics of the 99-01 cars are not like the Bi-Xenons of the 02+ cars. You can plug and play the 99-01 litronics but the 02+ bi-xenons you cannot.
With that said, yes you can retrofit. But the cost involved makes it not worth doing.
The Porsche Tequipment kit doesn't include the self leveling feature. The factory installed xenon headlights come with motors that run when you turn-on the lights, and liquid washers. They need to read the input from the sensor located on the control arm (n/a on non-xenon cars). This sensor is also a 1mm shim, so it affects camber and caster.
You will need washer fluid lines, leveling sensors and expend time wiring the system. Then you need to re-align the car. All this pain and cost is not worth it IMHO.
Hope that helps explain it a bit more.

Dell...all good points and I am in total agreement.
What if I say that I do not care about self leveling and the headlight washer.
All I need is Xenon low's and high's and halogen for flashing highs. Will it still be as much of a pain to get this basic operation going?

Seems like 2002 litronic should be a drop-in for a 2002 equipped with halogen. Except for the leveling and low beam rotation to flood the high beam pattern, that is.

i also do not think you will get your high beams to work. complete different wiring as dell mentioned. i had purchased an 05 c4s which what i thought were litronics, but soon found out that my high beams would not work and subsequently took the car to the dealer. found out that previous owner had changed from halogen to litronic.

Oops! I missed that one. The Litronics use pin A4 for the high beams while the halogens use pin A5. But I'll bet a switch of the pin in the chassis-side in the connector would allow them to work, with the same caveat I described above.

It looks like the xenon flap actuator pin can be swapped with the halogen highs (Swap A5 to A4)..essentially having just the xenon high and not the halogen high beam?

This is one of those things that you just need to make sure you have when you buy the car. Needs to be on your list and if it is not there decide if it is a deal breaker. They will NOT plug and play.

The flap and the high beam share the same pin on the headlight housing side of the connector. So swapping the pin on the chassis side (using the appropriate Bosch connector tool) would also get you the halogen high beam.

That sounds like an easy enough work to do to get the bi-xenon feature, correct?
