Keep Set Of Staggered Wheels?
Hi all,
I just bought a Spec Boxster after a few years of hpde various Porsches with the intention of getting my race license with NASA. The car came with three square sets of wheels, 2 sets of Jongbloed and one factory twists. I also have a set of staggered twists and toyos from my other track Boxster. I’m looking to consolidate down and am wondering if there is any reason to keep a staggered set instead of just holding onto all sets of squares.
It seems like I’ve read in a few places that staggered isn’t really used by any folks that are fast in a Spec, but wanted to get a refresh on perspectives.

I would keep them if you already have the wheels as I think which is faster is track-dependent. I was speaking with a fellow driver this past weekend who said his staggered set was faster at Daytona than square.

Thanks for all the thoughts. I should add, the car did come with a brand new set of square toyo rain tires that are all 255s. But sounds like if I'm trying to cut down on sets I should keep the two square Jongbloeds, and a staggered set of twists, and get rid of the square set of twists.

I'm still running through HPDE but here in my region the GTS1 class has been used to let people run PCA SPB rules under a gentleman's agreement since there are no other entrants in the class.

Do you guys use 235 RA-1 on the front 7" or squeeze 255 on them? I have square RR and square RA-1 set, any "advantage" to the 235 RA-1 on 7" in front for rains aside from having a reason to not throw the 7's in the dumpster? I've got 4 of them collecting dust

Use the 7's as rollers so that the race tires aren't making flat spots between races? Or as coffee tables as suggested above :-)
