To benefit SPB regular racers, I would like to......
compile a list of newcomers to the SPB class this year......
So..... here I am joining SPB coming from E class 1987 911......
Be patient and...... get out of my way if you see me coming...... I have no clue how to drive an SPB......
Anyone else new to SPB this year? (I know of at least one more besides myself....but I won't mention any names.... GaryR......)

My first SPB race was the 48 Hours at Sebring, after six years in a 997. There's a STEEP learning curve in the transition from high HP rear engine to low HP mid-engine. The SPB is beautifully balanced and a joy to drive, but if you get off the throttle, you're lost.
Those of you who have driven these cars for years have learned the technique of maintaining speed through the turns (i.e., knowing how to actually drive). SPB is all about exit speed. He who gets on the power soonest, wins. Not as easy as it seems. I have new-found respect for the fast SPB guys. I bow before you.

raced the SPB only once so far, last year at Summit Pt.
same as above regarding max respect for the SPB veterans.
pretty simple: don't brake and rarely lift......
getting accustomed to NO LSD is my personal challenge coming from a 996 Cup.

I purchased a SB last fall but am not ready to race. I hope to be with 2 more years of DE. Had Matt Muller as an instructor at Summit Point, talk about bowing down... Just wanted to chime in.

To play on what J said I agree 100 percent. Getting to the point where you're driving the SPB fast is actually the easIER part. Winning in this class is about not making the mistakes. They are great cars to race when their balanced but when their not its a handful. Lack of LSD and HP to bail you out are big factors.
Welcome all! This is the best and most competitive class in PCA. IMHO.

Excited to join the SPB crew this year co-driving with Scott, also on this thread. Drove the car for the first time at Summit last September, also my first racing after 7+ years DE driving & instructing. Eye opening experience coming from a 500+HP front-engine, RWD Corvette!!
I suppose its never too late to learn driving from scratch, so watch out! Opening the season at Road Atlanta, looking forward to a solid SPB showing and a ton of fun.
