It’s a speedy process if you can provide the information timely! So far, it’s been a great experience. If anyone has any questions, please reach out. I’m going to miss this one and my love for this car has been well documented on RL.

It's a beautiful and loud car! Good luck on the sale!

Thank you! I’ve tried to go over all details and provide as much data as I can. I will surely miss it. In my eyes, one of the best looking Porsches made.

As a sufferer of PADD (Porsche Attention Deficiet Disorder) I can appreciate your decision. What I've found in the end is that I go back to the realy good cars. They're good for a reason. So you may find you move out of this CR and then back into one in few years, albeit for a healtherier entry fee.

What are you getting into. Breath held, here!

P.s. Now back in a 2011 Spyder, the only car I do miss for those occasional INSANE drives is my 2011 GT3 RS. They, like the CRs and Spyders are getting so rare now, most likely in the garages of either enthusiasts or collectors.

Ha! I love the reference PADD lol. Yes it is a hard decision but I don’t need multiple sports cars and sooner or later one of them sits! With kids, work, etc. I only put 1K miles on the CR last year. So I truly hope whoever buys it enjoys! Admittedly, I am an exotic car guy so am excited about the replacement but…you know the saying…never sell a good car….and that’s exactly what I’m doing.

I’ll ask the next owner for first right of refusal!

I was about to share this as well. Spoke with the owner - Gerald. I almost bought it but while getting permission from my wife, she told me to sell my 986 and then we can talk about a low mileage R. Guess what I'm starting this weekend? Bore scope, oil change and analysis, a good carpet shampoo, leather cleaner/conditioning, and a good wax job. You may see it in Marketplace in a couple of weeks.

Where are all the manual Spyders? Seems like a lot of PDK cars (prices dropping) and a few manual Cayman Rs, but I'm not seeing any Spyders hit the market.

I'm on the hunt for a white or silver manual Spyder with driver miles.

If you know of anyone planning to sell, please DM me.

Check out post #701. I’m not sure what you classify ‘driver miles’ as. I would guess that manuals are driven less in modern traffic so would be lower mileage in general. Not that any Spyders seem to be hitting high miles except for one in the UK.

That's the highest-mileage R I've seen. I love it... good for him! Looks to be in really good shape for the mileage too.

Anyone noticed that 981 spyder prices seem to be dropping into the territory of the lower-mileage 987 spyders?

Found this one at Porsche of Nashville. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/7...-a0a05c0bcfa5/

The Cayman R - GT4 price gap still seems significant.

I watch the markets really close and have noticed those cars coming down as well. I know a number of people who ditched those cars to go back to a 987.2 Spyder, because the car didn’t feel special enough (not my words). They do everything really well, and are great drivers, but I much prefer the look of the gen 1, especially the top.

@doworkexotics congrats on the auction result!! I'm sure you're pleased. Sold for $75k on BaT (before buyer's fee) which was $3k more than you had it listed here on RL, if I'm not mistaken?

Thanks Zach! Yes the CR sold very well. The new owner is an enthusiast and the car will be enjoyed! @Bxstr and I will wrap up our thread and close out this chapter this weekend when the new owner takes possession. It’s been a blast and I’ve truly enjoyed the CR community.
