Big shout out to Casey and the gang at Porsche of Silver Spring.

I took the BS in for a MSSI and they ended up basically doing a PPI, post purchase inspection. Thank you 😊

The car needs a major service (the tech took the time to review the detailed service records that came with it) and she needs tires due to age.

They went ahead and fixed a couple of minor issues, switch for the frunk (the one in the door sill) was replaced ($256) and a new key ordered ($622) car only came with one key 🤷‍♂️

I’ll drop it off for the major service and I have a Numeric shifter to install when the second key arrives from the fatherland. I have the shifter leftover from one of the 997’s that I regretfully sold and just need to purchase the 987 cables ($511)

I’ll throw on a set of Michelin PS2’s, N spec when I have the opportunity and we are all set for commuting 😁

There is also a blemish on the drivers seat bolster from improper entry into the car and a small imperfection in the base of the driver’s seat, the upholstery shop at the dealership said that they can fix both issues for ($250)

Following completion of the service, car should be in “new” condition 🤩

The miles are already piling up, 700 and climbing in week one, love this car. Perfect for running around the beach and driving to work 😊

I'm sure if you keep an eye out on ebay you can scoop a PCM manual for these generation cars. Same with the roadside manuals as neither were specific to the Spyder. The Porsche CPO owner cards and inspection checklist would be specific to your car so if it was a CPO previously the only way to obtain them would be to ask the seller you purchased from. Finding a different set second hand won't help you there.

Just thought I would ask here first. You know how some like to collect stuff. The PO could not locate the documents at the time of sale, they may turn up at some point. The car came out of Beverly Hills, I believe CPO for the PO, they have been asked to locate any available docs.

Just covering all the bases 👍

I am a bit OCD about this stuff 🤷‍♂️

btw: thank you for the link yesterday the Owners Manual and case are in route 😀

Oh great, no trouble at all. Just keep an eye out or setup a search and it'll ping you when one pops up. They'll turn up.

PCM booklet would have only been included if the car was optioned with PCM aka navigation. Since your car is a "low option build" that probably isn't needed.

Being the original owner I have all the documents, let me know if you think you’re missing something and I can post some pictures.

@Patrick3000 Congrats on the Spyder!

Are you sure you want to go with PS2 tires? I understand the N rated motivation, but tires have come a long way since the PS2s were introduced 20 years ago. I have non-N rated PS4S on my car and they are fantastic.

Porsche continually updates its tires just FYI. So while the PS2 may technically be an ‘older’ tire name it has been completely revised by two subsequent generations. The original PS2 being N0 designation then N1 and currently N2. I just put a fresh set on mine and couldn’t be happier. Same cost as PS4S as well.

Not to sway in one direction or the other, purely informational.

I’m counting on it. Installation is scheduled for Tuesday.

Thank you, love the Spyder 😊

Yes absolutely sure, I have spent three hours with the Michelin tire rep in briefings discussing tire construction and the various compounds that go into the various types of tires. Bottom line if you want performance PS2’s comfort and longevity PS4’s.

Yep, unless it's a heavily driven daily driver... PS2 > PS4S
