PDCC. Yeah or nah?

What are people’s thoughts about PDCC?
Driving in California, along the coast and mountains for fun. Otherwise as a daily driver.
I won’t miss the $3500, but if I don’t notice a difference in driving, doesn’t seem worth it
Doubt I would ever track the car
thanks!

Remember though. Think of resale too. Most will want it.

I've not driven Porsche's modern PDCC. In other systems (older, hydraulic), I've not liked it. I do not enjoy the bobbiness that comes when the sways are disconnected at the straight ahead, nor the artificial "flatness" of the car up to 0.5g. Personally I like to feel the car lean. But that's my preference.
Coupled with the ultra low COG due to the batteries.....I think that this and the ceramic brakes are a total waste of $ unless you plan on tracking.

The car weighs 5100lbs. PDCC would likely help with carrying that weight well. I don't have PDCC in my 911, but I am seriously considering it for the Taycan.

In terms of resale, you're more likely to not get any $$$ back for PDCC. Most options don't retain value. I don't imagine most Taycan buyers think PDCC is required. Makes more sense on a Cayenne, for example.

If you can't sell it to as many people because it has or doesn't have certain options, then you're only hurting your chance to sell it.

My 2019 Audi E-Tron has air suspension and the Taycan does as well. Almost required on a vehicle this heavy. The E-tron has one of the best rides I've ever had in a car - if not the all-time best. I doubt you will need PDCC unless you just want to throw money at the build.

If it’s just for cruising as a sedan, then you probably don’t need it. But after test driving one, i definitely want it. The weight balance is different than a 911 and I found the test vehicle without pdcc fought me a tiny bit on the hardest corners. Public road so hard to get a good read on the limits in one test drive. Looking forward to seeing them at PEC next year.

I've had PDCC on a Cayenne and rear steer on various GT cars ... I think rear steer is useful for a big GT like the Taycan, but PDCC is not fun, it's always an echo, not a signal. I would delete it off a turbo S even if it's free.I don't know why we've been driving front-steer cars for all these decades. I guess it's a matter of profit and consumer ignorance. I think very lightweight Porsches (e.g. a 964 RS) are far, far better off without rear-steer ... but for these modern-day 4000lb+ land yachts, the stability, agility, and maneuverability afforded by rear-steer is worth its weight.

I am cheap ($6400 as option for the 4S) - and don't plan to race it. Lots of cornfields in Minnesota, not a single canyon road to enjoy. So no PDCC for me. I am probably going to spend that amount on winter wheels and tires though.

more is better - so yes - Porsche is the most profitable car company and it's our job to keep it that way!
