Default Sport chrono

Wondering what people's thoughts are on sports chrono on the Taycan? Trying to figure out if this is one of those 'must have' options.

On the 992 it seems like a necessity to change between modes as it alters throttle mapping, idle RPM, suspension, etc.- do people feel similarly on the taycan? does throttle response change? is it like the sport button on a cayenne?

thanks

99% of the time I leave it in normal mode (I have the “turbo” model.) Adjusting between the modes does affect throttle response, regenerative braking, and suspension settings. Sport plus setting is just too aggressive for daily driving - it would be most useful for tight mountain twisty roads. Thus, I don’t think it is one of those necessary options unless you really like that “sport” driving feeling.

I enjoy it and use it daily. Especially like INDIVIDUAL mode and additional SPORT + not available on non-chrono cars. No brainer option for me on a Porsche.

Besides the mode selector you get a slightly more substantial feeling steering wheel rim. I only know this because my other two cars have the sport steering wheel and I didn't order it on my 4S. First world problems.

I don’t think you need it on the Taycan. The middle touch screen has the option for sport mode at the Touch of a button unlike my 992 TTS where it’s definitely a must I didn’t get on my Taycan for this reason

the sports chrono gives you the **** that makes it easier to move between modes and it gives you an additional sports mode

Lack of individual setting which I find extremely useful. Also, lack of sport+.

It’s not clear sport plus does anything significant on any taycan except for the turbo s where I believe air adds boost/Hp early on. Let me know specifics if I’m wrong? I’ve never used individual mode in any of my Porsches as the presets seem to pretty good.

Anyone know how to stop the clock hand? Fearful it’ll fail over time.

Mine fell off within the first 5,000 miles of owning a '14 Cayman S. Problem solved.

My Cayenne has been through three, and my 991 was on it's second. They definitely had an issue with that time frame.

I haven't heard of it being an issue on the newer style chronos.

Me too. Didn't get the sport chrono because it's a gimmick unless one tracks. I mean, I wonder indeed who's driving these 5000 on cars and then thinks sport chrono does anything but pad profits for Porsche. Pro tip: buy a 911.

But I do hate how they stuff us with that thin steering wheel (have the same 4s as you). It's thinner than my wagon's more substantial steering wheel.

Sport Plus on the highway? Why? Sport Plus offers horrible efficiency and is actually designed for the track or racing canyons.
