Waiting for that counter argument bud where people are fine with pissing away 100k in 2 years...or less on an EV. Must be that new math.
The depreciation for the Taycan (in any trim, or EV, or whatever) is really no different than any luxury sedan and/or SUV. Or roughly between 45-60% of MSRP.
It's just the price you pay for, ahem, luxury.
Comparisons to the 911 are inapt. Especially 911 prices during and post Covid.

Porsche has lost their way for sure. $220k car, that will drop half its value in a 1-2 years based on the current trends.
4RS still beats it around the ring by 2 or 3 seconds.
Porsche had 3 options:
1) Ignore EVs and focus on ICE. The result? Porsche becomes a dinosaur, stuck in the old school ways.
2) Produce EVs, but only to make money and sell SUVs or just boring cars while the ICE cars are the main course. The result? Porsche is boring, and people stop thinking about the brand as being a step above the rest.
3) Produce EVs and do it well. The result? Porsche maintains old school awesome ICE cars and adds awesome new high performance EVs, retaining the “Porsche is a high tech engineering company” identity while providing an answer to Tesla at the same time (desperately needed)
Sure, the Tesla is less than 1/2 the cost, but so is Corvette. There’s room for both.
Congrats, Porsche, I’m excited, even if I stick with ICE.
I think it’s cool to see Porsche push the limits of an EV. Since the government is pushing so hard for EV’s, why not try to make them fun and exciting?
Regarding the Weissach package, they should have put carbon buckets in the rear rather than removing them all together.
So buy a 911... don't buy a Taycan. Not sure why harping on depreciation 24/7 changes anything other than creating a chorus of whiners. Did the Taycan depreciate from 2020-2023 when you couldn't find one? No? Than maybe the markets are super weird right now, especially around a novel product and a state of technological flux.

I'll note it has some very cool tech in it that I'm excited to see move down the line, and hopefully into a cayman chassis in a few years. The model S plaid requires 3 motors to get near this performance.

Yet it's still ~300 pounds heavier than the Plaid despite having 1 less motor and no rear seats
not buying another Tesla (had my share from 2012 to 2020)- but thought I'd check it out - here is today's price on a Plaid $96k and thank you Tesla the steering wheel is included - only Elon - - and it already comes with the NACS port so you can actually charge it in North America (and at Laguna Seca so you can bang out 1:30.xx lap times all day long - come in and charge at the track, and go back out)…but you'll be 3 seconds slower than the Taycan GT - but you can get a plaid I"m not so sure you can actually get a Taycan GT.

Idiots with short memories on car depreciation That ride is coming to an end. Hey @dgoldenz you’ve been around a while. Let’s see, my 2009 911 it was MSRP new around 100k. It was ‘valued’ at under 70 3 years later. My 964? $50k pickup. Or how about that 997RS I still have? That was a 140k car, 2007, 2011, worth about 1/2 that.
Maybe you can tell us about your car money making adventures?
Short memories and think this gravy train will last. Won’t happen. But if it makes you feel better to think your cars are appreciating assets have at it!
If you can’t afford the cost of the car, don’t buy it.
