Default Taycan Turbo GT

The 2025 Turbo GT can reach 60 mph in 2.1 seconds, boasts a top speed of up to 190 mph, and, with the Weissach package, drops 157 pounds compared to the Turbo S model.

Driver Lars Kern set a new lap record of 1:27.87, beating the previous record of 1.30.3.

Barely slower than Randy Pobst in the McLaren Senna at 1:27.62. A quick search and I found a 991 GT3 time of 1:31.8.

Porsche has lost their way for sure. $220k car, that will drop half its value in a 1-2 years based on the current trends.

4RS still beats it around the ring by 2 or 3 seconds.

When my MyPorsche app notified me this morning of a Porsche press event or unveiling, I was hopeful for the 992.2. Then I saw it was a Taycan, I assumed it was the Taycan.2 refresh. Then I saw it was just a Taycan above the Turbo S and realized this wasn't really a production car as much as it is a unicorn car for the very few, a just to say we did it, can do it, car.

Moving on.

I disagree, this might one of Porsches most fun eras ever

Cars like this and the cayenne GT bring as close as you can get to driving a 911 in a large suv and now a sedan

For people who drive off the track thats appealing

Since when did value retention become a core tenant of a car enthusiast? Were you a porsche owner of the past? How about my 997RS that had an MSRP of 140+ and was worth mid ~70s 3 years later? People have short memories on cars and feel they are stable or appreciating assets.

I agree with the point. Not all like change, but, this push for EV is to me the most exciting thing in the auto industry. I own 3 of the best generations of 911 (and have owned them all except 992) and look forward to the evolution coming. New experiences, new fun.

I think I saw a video where they mentioned that the WP version has no rear seats - in a sedan car . So very few would buy it I guess

Porsche.

The company that makes a coupe with backseats, and a sedan with none.

Because you can buy a 911 and lose little to nothing while the Taycan GT is losing $100k in 2 years? Seems relevant to almost everyone I’d imagine.

Still can’t get over the fact they are calling an EV a Turbo. Just dumb.

Waiting for that counter argument bud where people are fine with pissing away 100k in 2 years...or less on an EV. Must be that new math.
