Description:
I was not planning on selling it, but I have an opportunity to buy a special car and have decided to offer up this very amazing car.
Let me just say that I really love this car!! It is really amazing to drive, like nothing I have ever experienced before. Deep down, I am an old car guy, and that is where my heart lies, so I have decided to sell this to pursue some classic cars.
This is a pretty special car. I am not sure what it is, but this car really pops. I think it is the right color combinations, with the grey interior, the factory Carbon fiber treatment inside, along with the factory colored gauges, that it just really commands attention. It just seems to really all work well together, perfectly.
Then, add the fact that this car has the very desirable twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger motor optioned with the X50 performance package and it becomes an amazing car! The factory optioned X50 means it has larger turbochargers and intercoolers from the contemporary 996 GT2 & GT3s. Too make this car even more awesome, it has been upgraded with a GIAC ECU tune.
We are talking over 500 HP!!! All that power and it still drives like a dream!!
Of course, it has the 6 speed Manual trans-axle sending power to all four wheels!
The car is finished in metallic grey with a grey leather interior and matching grey power convertible top. What is really cool, is that it is optioned from the factory with the Carbon Fiber Package, painted instrument dials, deviated interior stitching, and more.
This 996 Turbo shows only 64K miles.
It has complete service records, manufacturer's literature, and a clean Carfax report!
The car is finished in Seal Grey Metallic (L6B4) with complimentary Graphite Grey interior as well as a power-operated Graphite Grey convertible top that has a glass rear window with defrost.
The hood, front facia and mirrors have a paint protection film applied, which means less of the usual blemishes.
It has, what I believe, are the original Factory Chrome Turbo Twist 18" wheels. The chrome version seem to be quite rare. I am not sure if these or the satin Turbo Twist wheels would look best on this car, but this is what it has. There is a small amount of curb rash on the rims, but they look good, overall.
Standard features include cross-drilled brakes with fixed four-piston front and rear calipers along with Porsche Stability Management.
The Graphite Grey interior features heated and power-adjustable seats upholstered in leather with black stitching, which extends to the doors and dash. Factory options include a body-colored center console and Turbo-branded stainless steel door sills, as well as, carbon fiber trim on the dash and center stack.
The carbon fiber and leather trimmed steering wheel frames Graphite Grey instruments including a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,600-rpm redline. The grey instruments just seem to look so much better than the normal white gauges. The digital odometer shows just under 64k miles, approximately 44k of which have been added by the previous owner. Additional amenities include automatic climate control as well as Navigation.
The factory ECU Was flashed in 2014 with about 53,500 miles. Many service records date back to 2009 with less than 20,000 miles. The car shows no signs of any oil leaks including the turbos.
The X50 option brings the 996TT's to 444HP and the GIAC performance software reportedly adds 60-80. It is safe to say it's 500+.
The DME report shows zero Range 3 over revs and no resets
These tuned X50's are outrageously fast and still reliable. I have read that: "Performance for the standard 996 Turbo was phenomenal at the time and the X50 package cars were faster still with a 0 to 60 mph coming up in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 192mph!!!" With the upgraded GIAC ECU tune, are we looking at 200mph? I wonder...
Overall the paint is Real nice! There are some chips in the facia, but it looks good, overall.
There are absolutely NO door dings or issues of any kind. The body is razor straight!!
The headlights are incredibly clear. They look brand-new.
The interior is very nice overall, with no issues or excess wear....it is just about mint.
The drivetrain has no issues and performs as it should: Simply Awesome!
Options on this car include:
C02 - Catalytic converter
XME - Center console painted in car color
XNR - Carbon center air vent bracket
XNX - Carbon dashboard trim strip
XPD - Carbon three-spoke steering wheel
XPY - Carbon instrument surround
XJ4 - Leather covered ignition lock surround
X45 - Colored instrument dials
X47 - Carbon gear lever ****
X50 - Powerkit for turbocharged engine
X58 - Carbon handbrake lever
X70 - Stainless steel door entry guards with logo
342 - Seat heating
446 - Wheel caps with colored Porsche crest
498 - Without model designation on rear end
Overall, you will not be disappointed.
This car is just really nice, overall. It is NOT some beat-up, worn out, abused car....it is Really nice and ready to use and enjoy for a long time!
I am asking only $52,500. I am open to trades, up, down or even. No motorcycles. Thank you.

For me, I can’t imagine having anything but a cabriolet. Cruising around in my car with the top down, is just such an amazing experience! It doesn’t get any better! I personally think these cars look best as cabriolets, with the top down, of course. 😊

Thanks. Well, the TCO for me was not just the sale price. There were the added fees that included things like the buyers premium, shipping expenses, etc.
Many things have been done to the car since I got it home. As you mentioned, the wheels have been replaced with the correct Turbo Twist wheels. The car has been gone through and detailed. Other things have been updated, like the window seals. The body was professionally inspected and fixed of any waves or door dings. This car is incredibly razor straight with absolutely no door dings or tiny dents anywhere. This car is now just absolutely gorgeous!!
When I purchased the car, it was in the middle of the Covid 19 stay at home period. The economy was down and people were hesitant to buy. Now, the market is getting back to normal. The car is now priced, based on the market. Actually, it is priced below market value. When I put this car up for sale a short while back, I priced it for quick sale, because I found a classic car that I have been looking for for quite a while. The deal never materialized, and I just left the ad as it was. Now that the market is starting to rebound, I am getting a lot of inquiries on my car at this price. Real nice X50 6-speed 911s are now where they should be, in the mid $50K range. I will not be surprised if this car sells soon.
Thanks for your interest,
Mike
