Good luck Dave, it’s priced right and knowing how particular you both are I know the car is in great shape.

Dave: Does the fire ext. go with? In pic 50 is that a Durametric, if not what is it? Do you have any idea how big a deal it is to install anchors for the front plate? Would you by any chance have a sound file on the exhaust as it is? On a different question, I sent you a PM.

Folks, based upon the number of PMs in the last 12 hours I've either seriously under-priced it or there are a lot of Nigerian Princes
I will field PMs in the order received as soon as I can. In the meantime, in this post I will attempt to answer questions about the car that I've received or are posted publicly.
Steve, yes. If I get my asking price the Weather Tech liners, PSE, FE, and original floor mats will go with the car along with all paperwork, service records, and miscellaneous 981 tchotchkes from Porsche (to the extent that I can dig them up.)
To answer the next question related to the FE: Yes, my wife did 4 PCA DE days in this 981 in 2014 (IIRC.) She could run in Blue group but prefers to run in Yellow group. Why? She has no interest in trying to go as fast as possible on straights. She enjoys corners and tends to accelerate/decelerate only to the speed needed for the next corner.
So, there's plenty of meat left on the brakes. My wife hasn't 'rung it out.' (And before anyone asks, I've rarely driven it. And not on the track.)
However, since the tires are the original Pirellis, buyers should budget for a new set since they've aged-out.
That is the 'other stuff' that is part of the PSE system. This is *exactly* what you get from Porsche when you buy PSE for post-factory installation. (I know, because I bought it from Sunset Porsche (or was it Suncoast? Invoice is part of the records.))
The 'other stuff' in that box includes a new console panel (since you can't just buy a PSE button), wiring, vacuum line, etc.
I have a license plate holder that uses the tow eye receiver in the bumper cover. This is used for state inspections and then removed. I need to retain that holder. I can post the link if there's interest.
The factory plate holder can be installed easily. It just uses self-tapping screws (that put holes in the cover.) I may even have the OE holder. I didn't think to look for it, since "no holes in the bumper" is prized. Apparently.
There are numerous solutions for front plate holders that don't require putting holes in the bumper cover ranging from simple (like the tow eye semi-temporary solution we have) to super-trick retractable mounted under the bumper.
Unfortunately I do not. I was hoping the drone used for photos would capture sound. It does, but it's All Propeller
It's on a four post right now, so it's not super easy to get another clip. If not having a sound clip becomes a deal breaker, I can get one when it stops raining.
Questions from PMs:
PPI: I'm willing to bring the 981 to a shop north of Boston for a PPI via prearranged appointment at the prospective purchaser's expense. I'm available most anytime with a few days notice.
Auto Engineering (https://www.autoengineering.com/) is close by and seems to have a good reputation.
Why is this 981 listed so low?
Well, it seems that I phucked up. BaT wouldn't take it at all. I priced it in the middle of the window for what I could find for private party sale value.
Was this 981 in an accident?
As briefly described in the thread-opening post, the left-rear corner was scuffed while parked. The cover was removed, repaired, repainted and two plastic mounting brackets were replaced by a Porsche Certified Body Shop. A picture of the original scuff is the last picture in the gallery. The paint match is perfect. This shop is so good at matching that I brought them some parts to match for the shell-out 928 GT restoration I'm doing for a client.
Why is it for sale?
This was my wife's first experiment with a two-pedal car. (Seriously.) She enjoyed it, but prefers her automotive experience to feature three pedals when at all possible.

I don't think you can send or receive PMs until you have 50 posts.
You can, however it seems, leave a message on my visitors page: https://rennlist.com/forums/members/17494-worf928.html

Well folks....
early bird gets the worm. Or in this case a 2014 Cayman S.
Sender of the first PM I received has sent a deposit.
Next time - if there is a next time - I'm going to start at ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
Once the transaction is complete and pick-up is scheduled, I'll mark this thread as sold.
If for some reason the deal falls through, deposit will be refunded and I will contact the sender of the second PM received that offered to buy at asking price.
