Description:
Grand Prix White 1993 911 RS America for sale. Just under 94,500 miles on the odometer. There were four factory options on the RSA. This car was equipped with radio, sunroof, and a/c.
This RSA is mostly stock except for PSS10 suspension, upgraded sway bars, a strut tower brace, big red brakes, and FD Motorsports Goldenrod. All were done prior to my ownership, except for the suspension and goldenrod. All changes are bolt on, and can be easily reversed.
There's damage listed on the CARFAX (not an accident). Carfax states "damage to left front." I can tell that the fender has been off the car, likely for a repaint, but there's no visible damage to the frame or suspension components. It could have been road debris for all I know. It's a complete mystery.
This car didn't come with any service history, so I only have details from my ownership and the PO.
History I've been able to track down on the car goes back to 2016. It was sold in August 2016 to a guy in Oklahoma. I was able to get in touch with him, and he said that he bought it late night on eBay and parked it in his hanger, adding about 400 miles under his ownership. He traded it in to a Mercedes dealer on a G wagon. They likely tossed any paperwork/service history, as dealers do.
October 2017 - sold to the previous owner right before me. He had a dealer license so he never titled it. The car failed emissions in July 2017, likely because of a faulty seal on the gas cap. I assume this, because it happened to me in Utah.
Under the PO (work done by Bill Eason in Oakland CA):
Valve Adjustment
Oil Change
New Tires
New Battery
July 2018:
I bought the car from the PO at about 91,500 miles. PPI done by Bill Eason in Oakland CA. Registered and titled in Utah. It failed emissions the first time I tried because of the gas cap seal. Replaced the seal and passed without issue. Twice.
Under my ownership (in the past 3,000 miles):
3 oil changes (Mobil 1 15W50)
Transmission fluid flush (Delvac)
Brake fluid flush with ATE
PSS 10 suspension install with alignment
Timing chain cover gaskets
Oil line replaced (thermostat to filter housing)
FD Motorsports' "Goldenrod" RS Style shift rod
New OEM rear lights
Continental bluetooth radio (Common upgrade. It came with a horrible Sony radio)
Carfax from 2019 attached. The only update would be a registration event in Arizona.
I understand that you may want to pull comps from BaT, Carrera 2 listings, etc. There are about 4 RS Americas for sale right now, and the only other one under $100k is a dedicated track car.
Happy to answer any questions or provide additional photos.
Update 1/26/21:
Take a look at this video from this past Saturday (1/23/21) I made after one of the interested guys who asked me to walk around and point out any flaws.
Mechanically, it's solid and drives exactly like you'd expect a well sorted RSA to drive. There are flaws in the body, which is expected after 28 years, 5-6 owners, and 95k miles.
It's not a museum piece, but it's also significantly less than what you would expect a garage queen to cost. There are currently zero others for sale right now (at least from the usual places [cars.com, cargurus, autotrader, ebay]).
