Description:

**** As with any older German car, this is oriented towards an enthusiast and DIYer****

I am selling my 2005 Porsche Cayenne (955) Turbo. The exterior color is Titanium Metallic with a black interior. I bought this car approximately 2.5 years ago. It had a boost leak and a cracked front bumper. I did the following as soon as I bought the car. I can provide part receipts as well with the part numbers.

-Replaced the front bumper cover (professionally painted), fog lights, horns and intercooler shrouds
-Replaced front fans (the fan controller wiring was all corroded)
-Changed intercooler piping seals and a lot of PCV hoses due to numerous boost leaks. I can provide the P/Ns of the hoses replaced.
-Changed the drivers side valve cover gasket, AOS diaphragm and PCV check valves.
-Changed the secondary air injection pumps and corresponding check valves.
-Replaced brake pump vacuum hoses
-Changed ATF (OEM Type IV fill using the proper procedure)
-Replaced Front/Rear diff fluids and the transfer case fluid. Redline 75W90 oil used in the diffs, D4 ATF in the transfer case.
-Changed spark plugs & coil packs to the OEM (Beru). Inspected each cylinder wall with a borescope– no indications of bore score.
-Changed the waterpump, accessory belt, and all of the corresponding rollers/idler pulleys.
-Went down to 18” OEM wheels and new Falken Wildpeak A/T tires.
-Installed the OEM trailer hitch
-Oil changes every 5,000 miles with the OEM filter, Castrol Edge 5W40 (Meets Porsche A40 spec) with LM Ceratec added.
-Front/rear brakes were changed and brake fluid replaced.
-Coolant drained/filled multiple times (you can only remove a gallon or two at a time and the system is something like 6+ gallons).

I bought this car with approximately 153k miles on it and it has 163k miles on it now. I have not had any issues with this car. The previous owner I bought this car from told me that the coolant pipes were changed and that the passenger side valve cover was done. All oxygen sensors were also replaced. I’m inclined to believe him. He mentioned something about the fuel pumps and the alternator being replaced. I cannot verify that.
I do really like this car. I’ve hauled many items with it and it has been incredibly useful. I am only selling because I have five Porsches and I am looking to downsize. My brother has a 957 GTS and my father has a Q7 TDI. Both are the same chassis as this car. Since I have access to either of those cars, I am looking to sell this.

There are a few things that need to be addressed with this car.
-Windshield is cracked – I have been meaning to put in a claim with my insurance but I have not had the chance. I would replace the brake booster hose that runs along the secondary firewall at the same time. That is the one vacuum hose that has not been touched.
-Front control arms need to be replaced. This is a recent development. There is a minor clunk when braking. This should be addressed sooner rather than later. I have not changed this partially because there are a few different avenues that you could pursue (lighter aluminum arms from the Q7 or stick to the steel arms). I’d rather let the next owner decides what they want and upgrade any other items while they are in there (especially if they decide to off-road this).
-One brake bleeder screw was broken off years ago from the previous owner. There are two bleeder screws per caliper. This one is an inner one and it is not visible unless you remove the wheel. It is snapped above the threads. It does not leak fluid. I have not had time to extract the broken bleeder.
-Occasionally the starter will whine on a cold startup. The Bendix gear on the starter needs to be lubricated. It is not an easy replacement so I just have learned to deal with the occasional noise.
-There is some rust present from the inside of the rear passenger side door. I have seen this on 4/6 Cayennes that I have looked at in New England. This should be wire brushed and painted. Please see the attached picture.
-Headliner is starting to sag from the rear forward.

Overall, the car builds boost well and it runs great. I smoke tested it about a year ago and there were no visible leaks. Weathertech floor mats & trunk liner ($400 new for both) are included with the car. It was difficult to photograph this car. If you have any interest in additional pictures please reach out and I can either facetime you or send whatever additional photos of whatever you want. My brother asked for the roof rack so I am giving it to him. Thank you for looking.
