I picked up one of these meanwhile, and it works 'ok' on the passenger side in my 991. I just have the two tabs jammed up under the side panels on the center console, and they hold well enough during on-road driving. Wouldn't use them on a track, of course.

I haven't found one with the cup part the other way. Using it on the left-hand driver side doesn't work due to it's size and the height of anything in it. I don't make use of the rectangular part.
