So I am bumping up this thread even though its closed.
I purchased and paid for an Aluminum gas cap on November 2.
Exchanged several emails with the seller and agreed on a price including shipping to Canada.
The seller wanted Paypal Friends and Family but I sent an extra $5 and used normal paypal as I don't want to get burnt.
Ever since then the seller has not replied to any emails.
Which makes be believe that I was spoofed and sent the money to someone else that is NOT "Adams" the creator of this thread.

I missed out on mine even though I got in on the thread early. Anyways a lot scamming out there. Always contact the op by clicking on their avatar/username then pming. Glad you paid the fees. Paypal should take care of it. Good luck.

Cap arrived today (it was shipped quickly and as promised, I just didn't realize this did not post when I received the cap, so I am re-posting) and it is a perfect fit and a nice detail for my Boxster. Exactly as described, pictured and promised!

I believe I was one of the first to purchase one of these caps from Adams. He was very responsive and easy to work with. I paid via paypal friends and family and had no issues, cap arrived in a few day. The email addresses you provided do not match who I paid. Adams email had his name which matched his signature. Bummer you got scammed, hope you get your money back.

Wow, well this is not what I expected to wake up to.

This is the 'real' Adams, and that was most definitely not me. You were not communicating with the seller (me); you were communicating with the others at those emails and not through my PM.

Anyway, thank you for not assailing me in this with your correct assertion that this was indeed some spoof. I got scammed out of a slightly bigger amount (it doesn't matter, stealing is stealing) a couple years ago and have become twice as cautious. I was not as wise as you since I did do the Friends and Family and that was the end of that.

Hopefully the moderators will report the above name and email, as doubtless will you, to try and alert others. Its crazy the amount of effort a thief will go to for such a small amount, but look at the damage: you're out the money, and the trust, and you don't have the thing you paid for. I am sort of shadowed in this misbehavior though unwittingly. And they got a whole $65 or whatever.

Anyway, here to try and right out a wrong. I received an unused cap yesterday that did not fit the 981 Cayman it was purchased for and refunded the buyer. I would like to offer it to you, at no charge for the cap or the shipping to even out your disappointment. Hey, its Advent Season, and even thieves can't steal that!

Just PM me your mailing address and I'll send it your way. Hopefully PayPal will do the right thing and if so, you just pass that small goodness along to someone else.
