Default air compressor

I have carried a 120v ac for as long as I have been going to the track. I am trying to get my trailer more sorted out and wanted to put a small ac in a cabinet and ideally would like to go with 12V vs 120V. Looking for thoughts, opinions, and experience shares.

Thanks,

Mike

I switched from an old Porter/Cable pancake compressor to a Dewalt 20v Max battery compressor last year. Same battery runs my Dewalt impact wrench and leaf blower I keep in the trailer. This thing works amazing, is more compact, and I have been super happy with it.

If the purpose of your air compressor is tires instead of tools, I use this exact product in the same series as Nick and I love it:

The fact you can set the pressure you want it to fill tires to, turn it on, and walk away is super handy and it's compact and portable.

The tool that I didn't know I needed at the track but now never leave without is the same series mini cordless shop vac:

Great stuff.

+1 for the cordless options if your use case is filling tires. I prefer Milwaukee as I am already invested in their tools. They have both a 12 and 18 volt inflator.

Milwaukee also does have an actual cordless compressor if you need air above and beyond tire inflation.

What do you vacuum at the track? I have looked at one of these but not sure I would use it since I already carry the leaf blower? Curious....maybe I am missing out...

My car mostly - seat area, etc. I drive a prototype and we pick up a ton of dirt, etc - and that's even when I'm staying on the track!

I do air tires but mostly use one to blow-out the radiators and brake areas at the end of the day.

I wonder how the small M18 compressor would work for that. Certainly portable and certainly still a compressor as opposed to a small inflator.

plus one for battery powered compatible with your current power tools. Especially if they happen to be Milwaukee. Both the M12 and M18 are good in their own right. M18 if towing with a Dually or your trailer has load range E or higher tires. On either model, you can select a pressure to fill to and walk away. M12 is better with a bigger battery than the small ones.

+1 for the M18 Milwaukee, our team's truck/trailer has E load tires, so it's nice to be able to preset the pressures and have it automatically stop when it reaches the desired pressure.

All my other batt. tools are Milwaukee, so this looks interesting to me. My cheap small 5-gal passive air tank pressure valve is getting wonky and the fill-chuck was never good, so thinking of replacing it. Plus, it is almost useless for putting air in the truck or trailer tires. Once the two pressures equalize, no more filling happens. Do you think there is the ability to install a water-separator before the tank to eliminate/reduce moisture in fill air?

My trailer tires need 125PSI and the M18 inflator had no problem topping them up....
