But I honestly (and this is my personal preference) don't want to have long conversations about a car that has been heavily modified. I'd like to see clear maintenance and modification history in order to make a decision on whether to reach out. As a wise person once said, buy the seller, not the car.

Either way, good luck with the sale...I'm sure someone will pick this up as it does seem under market
How's this for history:

I bought the car in 1999 when LTWs were trading at slightly over E36 M3 prices. I drove on the street and DE events. car had about 55k miles on it when I sold it.

Sold the car in 2003 to a gentleman in TX as a track ready car for DE with a Gruppe N Euro 3.0L installed. Original motor was taken out to put a the Euro motor in for more power and high revving capability.

TX owner shipped the car to BimmerWorld to have the S54, transmission, diff, Moton Shocks, and more track prep done to it as the ultimate DE car. Owner took delivery of the car and lots interest in track driving. The car sat until someone finally convinced him to sell it.

Its great anecdotal history...and I'm not doubting the car wasn't built very, very well. But no, that's not the history I'm looking for.

Since I'm not a buyer, I will stop there.

Hah doesn't mean I won't post...and not sure why you are being semi-hostile (or if I'm just reading it that way). I'm giving you feedback on how to format a proper for sale ad to save you time. Here is my post when I was selling my E46M3 (too bad the images are borked now): http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=486008

Apparently

Buddy, the seller has been upfront and honest about the engine swap and everything else since the third or fourth sentence of his ad, so if anyone is coming across as hostile to me (and others, it seems) it's you. I don't know if the OP banged your high school sweetheart or something, but to be honest you, his ad isn't about YOU and your issues with it. He's trying to sell his car, which even you said is a good deal. Here's the good news: you don't wanna buy this sweet car at a good deal, you don't have to. But maybe you can stop taking a $hit on the hood in front of everyone?

That said, if this will make you feel better, we get it. You're not interested in the car. Understood. Point taken. Oh, and you're far better at creating a For Sale ad. Feel better?

Now, can we move on?

Thanks, from everybody

Since this car is white and a tweener (street and track combo) It would look so good between my E30 M3 Street car and Race car !

Very cool car, I also had a few E36 M3s, one was a dedicated track machine like yours

Good luck with your sale!

What a beautiful and functional E36! Having owned an E36 many years ago, there's no doubting that whoever buys this will have an amazing time driving it.

However, on the topic of it being an LTW. It's unfortunate that the car did not retain the original engine. I'm sure that will have an adverse effect on the selling price. It's no different than posting a 911 GT3 with some other upgraded engine. Sure it was originally a GT3 but it's been modified into something different.

Anyhow, best of luck with your sale!!!

This would be a great M3 to own. To me its the best of both worlds and a great M3 chassis.
