Default SOLD 2003 Carrera 2 coupe (full Aerokit, LN IMS, motorsports AOS, X74, +++)

Make: Porsche
Model: 911
Cont. Porsche Models: 996
Mileage (numbers only please): 45800

Color: black
Price (no $ sign please): $32900
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): NorCal
Body Style: Coupe
Transmission Type: Manual - 6 speed
2 or 4 Wheel Drive?: 2 Wheel Drive
Engine Type: Fuel Injection
Stereo System: None

FOR SALE: 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 2 Coupe, 6-speed manual, full factory “Cup Aerokit II” non-PSM car
Price: $32,900
Miles: 45,800k
Color: black/black

The BAD:
1. one door ding passenger side (good candidate for paintless dent removal)
2. Minor scratches in the hard plastic backside of the passenger seat
3. Some older rock chips beneath clearbra

The GOOD: Everything else.

Almost impossible to find: this is a full Aerokit built at the factory mk2 3.6 Carrera 2, without PSM. This car also has a 2012 LN Engineering IMS bearing, Porsche Motorsports air-oil separator (AOS), GT3 front lower control arms, factory switchable XLF sport exhaust, 18” Carrera lightweight wheels, Xenons, hardback sport seats, X74 suspension, X51 oil pan, X51 skid plate, WEVO motor mounts, B&M short shifter, factory red belts, newer RMS (late 2009, @30k miles), new clutch at same time, 996GT3RS center console delete, ashtray delete, stereo delete, factory 5mm wheel spacers with correct longer GT3 bolts (brand new), brand new rear brake rotors, Goodridge DOT-legal SS brake lines, Porsche Techquipment indoor cover, 3M clearbra all the way back to the doors/windshield (no seams).

This car has been perfect for me since 2008. It is garaged both at home and at my office. I change the oil more often than I wash it. Everything works. No stories. PPI’s welcome and encouraged (both Sonnen Porsche and S-Car-Go are local to me).

If you want a modern Carrera with rear seats (unlike a GT3) and stock mechanical reliability that can run with GT3’s at a DE and still pull off your morning commute and weekend drives, then look no further. The switchable sport exhaust is very emblematic of this car – it can pretend to be “quiet and civilized” when necessary, and then thrill you when you want it to.

I purchased this car from Stevens Creek Porsche in Fall 2008 with a new CPO warranty for $42k. At that time it had 27k miles on it and was bone-stock apart from a very high-end Alpine stereo. I upgraded the suspension to the factory X74 package and installed the X51 oil pan (better baffles) and aluminum skid plate. I have used the car on the street and for about five PCA DE events per year. This is my 4th Porsche. I have been a PCA National DE instructor since 2002 and CDI for the Golden Gate region the past 2 years… so although the car has been driven on the track, it has been driven CORRECTLY (i.e. smoothly, with every downshift rev matched). Furthermore during the last 2 years that I have been serving as CDI I miss about half my sessions each trackday due to administrative and coaching duties. You can see video of the car at the track at the youtube link below (including one of the 2 occasions when I spun it).

My Youtube channel:

Factory parts added since 2009:
1. X74 suspension kit (including: new Bilstein shocks, factory-matched springs, top mounts, bumpstops, swaybars, bushings, rear body braces). Original M030 suspension parts included too (in box)
2. X51 baffled oil pan
3. X51 oil pan skid plate
4. Porsche Motorsports Air-Oil Separator (996 version)
5. GT3 lower control arms (front only) with maximum correct shims.
6. GT3 front brake-cooling air deflectors
7. GT3RS center console delete kit & ashtray-delete storage bin
8. Factory 5mm wheel spacers with correct longer GT3 red-collar wheel bolts
9. Shims for changing the pitch of the GT3 rear wing.

Additional non-factory modifications
1. WEVO 997SS semi solid motor mounts (x2) (original mounts included too)
2. B&M short shift kit
3. Dust shields removed from behind all 4 brake rotors.
4. Goodridge DOT legal SS brake lines (all four)
5. Motul RBF brake fluid
6. Seamless 3M clearbra all the way back to windshield/door gap, including headlights & mirrors.
7. Included by not installed: $3k Alpine stereo with two digital amps, crossovers, ipod cable, custom sub enclosure that fits under rear window, etc. (none of this is currently installed, I removed all 70 lbs. of this gear upon purchase)... therefore currently no sound system in car.
8. Lloyds floor mats (black with red “Carrera” script in front). (original mats included too)

Clear CA title in hand (no liens). Just passed smog. Registration paid through October 2013. See next post for spares available at extra cost (I am open to a bundle-price offers).

This car makes the average 996 seem flabby by comparison, I am selling it only because I have decided to go over the fiscal cliff (i.e. I am shopping for a Spec911 race car).

Forgot to mention: Where parts have been upgraded, all the original parts will be included with sale too. This means: control arms, engine mounts, complete M030 suspension, center console, stereo, etc.

Also available at extra cost:

1. CCW C10 wheels (11x18r, 8.5x18f). Forged and very light. Silver. Includes mounted with MPSC tires that are pretty done, plus 4 extra front MPSC front tires that have maybe 2-3 trackdays each left in them. $1,900 with tires

2. Brey-Krause harness bar model#R-1030 (fits 996 coupes that don’t have the rear-deck Bose speaker box). Never "tested" perfect condition: $400 (new these are $670)

3. Cloth GT3 Euro racing buckets by Recaro. Factory fire-resistant cloth with color Porsche crests. Set includes sub bars, factory mounts, sliders, plus driver’s side Brey Krause lowering brackets installed. $2500 (pair) New these are $4800 (if you can find them)

If you want the car and all the spares, let me know. I am open to a discount on the bundle!

NOTE: With the 3 above lightweight parts installed + a lightweight battery, this car weighs exactly 3,000 lbs as measured on Longacre racing scales. Darn light for a street 996.

How about a cash and car bundle for your bundle? Really, wouldn't you rather start with an '86 and a 3.2 and build your own?

Just sayin'

Hi Ross, I'd be willing to consider it, if your bundle of cash is sufficient to impress the likes of JWE.

BTW, do you mind sharing why you removed the dust shield from the rotors ? I have not heard of that mod so far ...

I swore I would never buy a black car again. Thank goodness it is so far away.

This car is amazing and yes it eats GT3s but I am sure most of that is the driver which attest for how smooth he drives it. I have ridden in it with him at the wheel and it is impressive. GLWS

+996 mk2

I also like to add that this is a prime example of how all car ads should be.
