Test drove this one on Saturday...
I met the owner, Dennis, this past weekend for a test drive. Dennis is great: forthright, knowledgeable, and fair-minded. The car is in jaw-droppingly pristine condition with all the right DE modifications if required. I had Dennis drive it first – I like to see how other people treat their cars and I like to listen for noises, etc – after which he encouraged me to drive and open it up a bit. There may be more and more cars with 400+ hp, but...wow...this is a ferocious pavement gobbler with more lively feedback than any road car I have driven. Finally, I decided that I should be buying a dedicated, far-less perfect track car to continue my driving education, but this will be one sweet ride for the right enthusiast. GLWS.

Iain and Bob,
Thank you both for the nice comments.
The test drive with you Iain was a great time actually. The car was glad to stretch it's legs and it was a pleasure to meet you.
Chris, not sure if your comment is about my brakes, they are the stock GT3 brakes. Just very clean :-)

Car has been sold.
Thanks everyone for your interest.
Congrats to the new Rennlist owner who I will allow to introduce himself if he chooses.
I'd like to say a special thanks to Bill Rudtner and crew at "South Shore Performance", Freeport, NY.
They did the PPI while I was there delivering the car.
I can safely tell you I was not aware a PPI could be that thorough. I learned a lot, they made me feel welcome to watch while making it clear they were working for the new owner, I enjoyed the many toys in his garage and in the end, if I was to get a Pcar inspected, Bill's shop would be high on my list.
I have owned 35 cars or so, most not worth mentioning.
This sale was hard.
Kinda like leaving your first girlfriend.
I'll repost this over on the classifieds.
Moving to a ZO6.
Let the darts fly.
You guys have been fun.

Hello all. Indeed, I am the new very happy owner of a 996GT3 joining the forum.
It was an incredibly easy transaction thanks to Dennis! Car in great condition and an incredibly transparent, forthcoming and accommodating seller! A real pleasure.
The guys are South Shore Performance are great and as much as they looked during the PPI they could not find anything wrong with the car, a real testament to Dennis' passion for his cars and to the professionalism of the shop.
I also have to say that this forum has been an incredible resource and I'm very happy to be a part of it.
Dennis, thanks again! I know you are sad to see her go but I promise I will take care of her!

Its funny. Bill asked what I was getting. When I said ZO6 he kinda looked at me like I had the plague.
Common reaction around here.
I was looking at one in his lot, an older one. Talking to the guys about the bulletproof engine etc.
It had a blown motor....hmmm.

I just came back from a short ride- Yes- it's a 10 year old car but OMG it's nice. I understand the move to the Z06. Not right for me yet. I also stopped by Porsche Dealer to dream shop . Wow- big bucks- Corvette great bang for the buck.
