It would be nice if the dealer would address this issue with the missing "S". What's the story, behind this supposed "no stories" car? Inquiring minds want to know.

Usually there's a required state DOT sticker stating odometer was replaced with mileage noted

Maybe seller can get dealer service records and ascertain if it was replaced

Looked through the bible of service records and all of the documentation for the car. We serviced it from day one. No ODO replacement ever. Have a call in to the original owner.

Looks like the instrument cluster is white and if they were ordered in any color other stock the S didn't come on the tach. Looks like a clean car but I think its more like a 60k $ car with that many miles as that car with 40k miles is a mid 50k $ car at best so they will be some pricey miles and may keep it from apreacating as fast or being a true collector as a lower miles car could if these car ever get a buzz in the future. I would rather spend and extra 5k-7k $ and get one with under 15k miles...if you could even find on... but I hope it sells as i think people will look back in ten years and regret not picking up such a low production number 911 and you can't go wrong with and black on black Turbo.

I think he's right. I saw a '05 S with yellow dials from the factory, and it did not have the "S" on the tach.
Mine has the aluminum faced dials, and it has the "S".
