If a special car is configured to a desirable, yet hard to find spec, there is no limit on future value. There are Ferrari 360 Spiders on the market, but finding one with all original paint, low miles, a very recent service, in classic Ferrari Rosso/Beige, with the important options is borderline impossible. While the Ferrari name has been synonymous with excellence for the better part of the past decade, certain Ferraris are best suited for the driving enthusiast. This is one of such cars.

The 360 was built from 1999-2005. For this car, Ferrari partnered with Alcoa to produce an all-aluminum space frame that was 40% stiffer and 30% lighter than that of the previous 355. The then-new flat plane crank 3.6L V8 generates 400 HP, allowing 0-60 times of about 4.3 seconds, and a top speed of about 175mph.

This stunning 360 Spider comes with all records, books, tools, keys, cover, etc. It has been babied its entire life, and meticulously maintained since new. It has recently undergone its major standard 10k mile service. The interior is in fantastic condition with 0 bolster wear, and no scuffs or marring on any of the soft-touch rubber/plastic.

I seem to remember reading on the Ferrari forum, that Hagerty insurance assessed a $50,000 upcharge for the 6 speed transmission. Now I am not sure if this is for insurance valuation purposes or...?

Perhaps this upcharge could be titled the "gated tax"? I am not sure if this reflects real world sales numbers, however.

Correction, they are asking 200k. I have yet to see any that have sold for those prices. If you check the carfax on most of the gated F430's you will see how long these have been sitting in inventory.

Exactly. If anyone can find me a 430 spider, manual, 9k miles, in rosso w/ beige, with scuderia shields, with a functioning engine (let alone the 10k service done), for $155k, I'll buy it on the spot!

The manual tax is a very real thing in the f-car world these days. In the north east, the only other 360 spider available in rosso/beige is 2 years older than ours w/ half the miles, no daytonas, no shields, will need the $7000 engine-out service that our car just had, AND is being sold for $169,000 (see here).

There are other manual 360s for sale on Hemmings for less, but they either have far more miles, are in much less desirable configurations, or a combination of the two (here and here).

There is a similar car for sale in florida (here), being sold for 135k, but the mileage is close to twice that of our car.

We are more than aware that 360s can be had in the sub-100k price range, but once again, but comparing this care to a higher-mileage, less-optioned, F1 trans car is just not appropriate. I didn't post all of the links above to prove anyone wrong, but rather to give everyone a sense of the market for this car in general. If one's goal is to hop into a 360/Ferrari for as little money as possible, this absolutely isn't the car for them. This is more for the purist that enjoys a spirited drive every once in a while, and is looking for a pristine example of a modern, yet extremely engaging Ferrari!

so if one buys a 9k car at a premium they cannot drive it or the premium is gone. what fun is that? I am guessing that car has been revved in a garage a lot to impress friends.

mine will have 50k on it so I can pack another 50k on it before sliding it into a tire wall.

good looking car but it needs to hit the street!

haha, one can do whatever he or she pleases! the premium absolutely isn't gone if you drive the car... which is why a manual spider with 17k miles will sell for 120-130, and an f1 spider with the same miles will sell for much much less.

I do understand the 6MT premium. But I didn't realize it is a $50,000 premium in 360's. I have been searching for my perfect F355 for about a month and the 6MT premium on those is $5k-15k at the highest. Personally I think that car is the future classic. This is a very nice car and I'm sure someone will pay a high dollar for it!
