Likewise, I never heard of a Ruf Vin car starting with TP. Certainly doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just haven't heard of any before. Be interested in seeing where this goes.

1981 Turbo Cab. It was one of the first cars Alois built. Was actually his personal car.

Yea seems like quite the technicality there - modded Porsche owned by Ruf early not quite the same as the legit builds by the later formed company..

So, I guess it's modded by Alois but not built by Ruf

Very much a RUF car. Check out the road test below. And yes, that is the very same car!

I have a COA from RUF. But more importantly, I met Alois Ruf in person, who remembers the car vividly. Told me lots of stories about how he drove it from coast to cost in the eighties.

BTW...here it is on the cover of Automobile magazine. Also, in the article, you can see it parked at the RUF facility.

I remember seeing this car in person at Mecum Auction in Monterey Ca a few years ago, top bid was $180,000 no sale. Probably worth more today i would think....

Thats right. I was the seller.

Alois Ruf was also in the crowd. He came by to see his old car cross the block.

Interesting articles. Let's hear what other Ruf fans have to say about this controversy between W09 Rufs and Porsches converted by Ruf

Controversy? This is like choosing between supermodels to date.

Enjoyed reading the articles and the perspective on how fast this car was back in the day.
