For Sale: I am selling my 1994 Black on Black M491 Widebody (Turbo-Look) Carrera 4 with 43,600 miles. I bought this car early last year from a friend to replace the Viper we had, however my wife doesn't get the same enjoyment out of this car so I am looking to sell or trade. According to Turbo-Look.com this is 1 of 254 widebody 911's for the US market of which 99 were black and only 1 of 4 with the M513/M586 power lumbar on both the driver and passenger seats. I have included the VIN research from Suncoast in the photos on all the options this car has.

The car is in excellent condition both interior and exterior. The interior is a 9+out of 10 with no cracks, wear or tears on the seats, dash or carpet. The exterior is a 8+/9- with only a few rock chips on the hood.

The car is original to the best of my knowledge with the exception of the wheels and and aftermarket spoiler which were both installed by a previous owner. There are no engine leaks and all the VIN tags are in their places with the exception of the rear deck which was replaced with the spoiler.

Since purchasing the car I have replaced the tires (less than 400 miles), replaced the slave clutch and flushed the fluids, changed the belts, replaced the oil lines, and given it an oil change.

I do not have records for the car, (other than what I have done to it) though was told by the previous owner that the clutch was replaced at approx. 35,000 miles. Overall the car is in excellent condition and pulls strong without an slippage or other issues.

If you have any questions or want additional information please let me know.

Never seen this car. Are you sure this is a m491? Per the red book, porsche made the 1994 993 in coupe narrow body only and ceased M491 in 1989 with the G series 3.2. There was no wide body or turbo look variant until 97 with the C2S. Curious if this is an aftermarket body kit? GLWS

Sorry, but you are mistaken on several fronts:

There was indeed a widebody 964. They were available in 1994 only. You're looking at one in this ad.

Further, there was no 993 available in the US in 1994, only the 964.

Finally, a widebody was available on the 993 starting in 1996 with the C4S. The C2S came along in 1997.

Seller, good luck with the sale

Very cool, and a rare bird indeed! I still see no mention of an M491 option for the 964. It looks like the 964 ended production in 12/93, so only Europe got the 94 993? Anyway, learn something new every day!

In 1994 there were wide-bodied C4's known as the Jubilee Edition or the 40 Jahre. Genuine example right here with the exception of the rear wing and 993 wheels.

Thanks for posting the clarification goofball. You along with the other rennlisters is what makes this site so good. I know more about the 964 than I ever thought I would. Keep sharing the knowledge.

The story goes that Porsche had 250 or so 965 bodies in white left at the end of the 964 run so they made these 964 wide body carrera 4 cars at the end of the model run.

Nice looking car, the original Cup 1's and the original tail/decklid would really make it perfect.

Thanks for the compliment. It is a really nice car. I do like like the look of the spoiler, but I wish I had the original wheels and spoiler as well. If you know anyone with a set of 7 & 9 x 17 or a 964 spoiler assembly send them my way

The OEM wheels are tougher to source than the deck lid and spoiler. Knock off Cup1's are plentiful and fairly cheap too. The deck lid and spoiler comes up on eBay, rennlist and Pelican parts fairly often. The cost is in the paint work and fitting. At the price you're offering I think its a pretty fair deal as is and I expect it will sell in short order. Great looking car!

Did the original deck lid come with a whale tail? I assumed this car didn't have a whale tail fitted originally. Hence, making this 491 wide body unique.

The prior owner changed out the deck with the spoiler. The car would have come with the standard motorized spoiler that rests flush with the deck that you see on typical C2 and C4's

There was a 30 jahre model in 1994- they were all violet metallic over grey leather, this isn't one of those. This is a turbo look C4, didn't make many of these.
