I helped the current owner purchase this car a few years ago. I’ve known about the car for at least 8 years. The previous owner purchased the car in San Diego. What was unique about the car was that it was turned into an RS sometime in the late 70’s when factory RS parts were readily available. This RS conversion wears original factory RS lightweight front and rear bumpers as well as factory flares. After years of enjoying the car on the street and at open track days, the owner decided that it was time to take out the original T motor and build something special. Supertec was hired to do the job. They have been known to build some of the fastest and most wicked early 911 motors around…this one is no exception.

They ended up building a spectacular 3.2 Twin Plug engine that turns out over 300hp (estimate). The build included the following items:

98mm QSC Cylinders and JE Pistons 10.3:1
930 Turbo oil pump with internal mod for max flow
911 SC crank with knife edged flyweights 70.4mm stroke
Lightened 911 SC rods with ARP rod bolts and 928 nuts
All rotating parts balanced to 0 +/- .5 grams
Supertec head stud kit
911 SC heads (ported, twin plug and MFI injector port machining)
41mm intake ports
39mm exhaust ports
Supertec MFI pump mods
Superte MFI Pollymid fuel lines
Supertec mag stacks 52mm top 41.5mm bottom (52mm velocity stacks and PMO air filters)
Throttle housing rebuilt by Supertec 41.5mm butterflies 40mm ports
Supertec valve springs
Titanium valve spring retainers
DC62 cams
Taylor wires w/Bosch connectors
Supertec RSR plug wire holders
RSR spark plug connector holders
Burn Bros. cast aluminum sump plate
Supertec Gen II Twin plug distributor
Getty Design amber shroud
1 5/8 headers
Sport muffler
MSD 6AL
Two Blaster II coils
Bosch CIS fuel pump

Before the current owner purchased the car, we had Vision Motorsports in Lake Forest (one of the premier Porsche race shops in SoCal) go through the motor and do a complete inspection. They were very impressed with the motor. They said that it was put together just the way the factory would build a high performance motor back in the mid 70’s. It takes a lot to impress them.

After that, the current owner wanted to freshen up the rest of the car so we began a light restoration to make it the perfect R Gruppe car. A new RS carpet kit was installed with some fresh RSR style seats from TRE Motorsports. They are on Recaro sliders for easy positioning. Next, the original 15x7 and 15x8 Fuchs were restored to the correct RSR finish. Finally, the body was taken care of. All minor dents and dings were removed, the fiberglass bumpers were refinished like new and the car was repainted (the car had been repainted over 25 years ago and was checking on most of the surfaces).

The finished product was quite stunning.

Within the last 100 miles, the owner invested nearly $8,000 putting the final touches on the car. He had the transmission completely rebuilt. He installed a new clutch and flywheel. He installed a new front-mount oil cooler, and he performed a major service.

This RS Carrera is ready to be enjoyed.

This 911 comes with its original books and tons of receipts.
