I decided against the $20K Zenith and went for the $1000 Invicta Subaqua.
It was a tough call....
Went down to a jeweler on Wall Street to have it sized. To my surprise they had the Zenith in stock. I won't speak to the engine --the Invicta has the Valjoux 7750 (great movement btw) so FAR from terrible, but as far as finish and detail, not even close. Budget option for the clear win. The detailing is better than the Tags and Omegas I have owned over the years for the same amount--Lewis Hamilton marketing isn't cheap! I was kind of shocked by the Zenith actually, I guess $20K doesn't buy you a nicer shell. With Citigroup trading for a McDonalds's value meal (more like happy meal) I'm up 20% with the $19K I saved.
disclaimer, big and heavy.

I like a big watch, but those Subaquas are HUGE!

I was watching the Invicta watches channel yesterday and they were selling the Subaqua Noma III for $400. Heckuva deal!

careful, they'll stick in a run of the mill ETA G10 when you're not looking, not such a good deal then.....50mm is definitely and "off hours" size. I guess its overkill like driving a Pcar to pick up burgers.

Perfectlap, agreed on the oversteer-Ronnie Peterson was my all time favorite driver-I named my first son Peterson.

^ it's kinda funny....when the car's were the most demmanding and most unpredictable, there were no cameras around to film it.
When the car's are the most generic, predictable and boring (now) there are cameras everywhere....I could watch 70's F1 for hours.

That is a great comparison on the two watches. Alot of people are going to make the choice you did. Love the blue.

Crappy cellphone pick of my Swiss-made Tommy Bahama Silver Palm watch.

The case and link inserts are solid sterling silver. It also has a raised compound curve saphire crystal.

The watch face is a light blue, and the hands are silver with ivory-brown inserts, shaped like palm fronds.

This was a limited-issue piece, no longer available.

Valjoux 7750 is a very good movement! One of the most popular movements on the watch market.

Breitling, Cartier (Ferrari LTD), Chopard, Panerai, Omega, Tag Heuer (Carrera)....long list.
It's what the Cosworth DFV was to F1.
