I have been a long time customer of William Barthman, Artie is great if he is still there, excellent service.

Well, here it is in the flesh (on the flesh, really). I paid 9200 at a Rolex dealer. I think list is still 9925.

The SS Daytona truly is a magnificent watch. Few folks realize what you're wearing, so get it for "you" - not to impress others. I got mine for $7900 with no intention of flipping it - I wear it when the GMT II or Sub is in the safe.

Very nice indeed. Did they just have it in stock or are you a "preferred" customer? Was it easy for them to go under list?

Thanks! They just happened to have it. Hard to know if they did anything particularly special for me; I do buy jewelry regularly from them. I just asked if they would do "something off list," and they came back with the 9200.

I got my second ss Daytona a week ago. I mentioned to my ad I was in the market - he sold me the white face ss Daytona a year ago - and a month later he called to say he just got one with a black face. I still believe they go first to favorite customers (i.e. suckers who've dumped a ton of cash in the store over the years) but I am sure they are much less difficult to obtain than was the case a few years ago. I paid list for both.

I've had my SS for about 10 years. Took maybe 2 years to find someone that would sell it to me at retail. It's a very nice piece but it's almost due for it's 5 year service ($600), it's losing more time than "normal".

Sorry, couldn't resist. For about 5 minutes last year I really had my eyes set on a Daytona because I love/wear men's watches. Then I started paying attention and this guys describes it the best:

I like to let my wife wear either of my Daytonas - they do look hot on a girl.

Was in western canada on the weekend and the dealer had Daytona SS in stock. They also had virtually ever other model in stock.

The Milgauss looked pretty nice.
