Default 17" Boxster wheels on 964

I have seen a set of Porsche Boxster wheels: 7j x 17 offset 55mm Back wheels: 8.5j x 17offset 50mm and wish to fit them to my 91 964 C2 Cab. I currently have the standard 16" cup wheels. Will they fit stright on or will the slightly different 55 offset be a problem? will I need spacers?

The Boxster wheels should fit without spacers, assuming you install the updated steering stops. There was an update in 1992 to the steering linkage (6mm to 10mm steering stops) to support 17" rims, you can search on the 964 forum for the part number. Also, the bumper cover metal bracket edge may have to be ground down. There is a factory bulletin #9103 on using 17" rims, which details these changes.

Thank you for the info, tried to buy them but missed out. Now seen a set of 17" 996 wheels, but the guy can't confirm any real sizes or offsets. The numbers he has given me are:
Back wheels: k1 996.362.128.00 Front wheels: k3 996.362.124.00 Dose anyone know how I might be able to find out more as to weather these wheels would fit my 91 964?

If memory serves, 996 17 inch wheels are the same sizes as those for the 993. Wouldn't the 993 wheels fit the 964?

If they are Porsche wheels, they should have the rim size and offset cast into the wheel on either side of the rubber/metal air valve, ask the owner what's there. Stock offsets for the 964 are 52mm front and rear.
