Default Alternative to Sport Cups for 997.2 GT3

I have a 997.2 GT3 that I use primarily for track (DE) events and some autocross. Some tracks can consume the rear tires in a single weekend, which is getting a little pricy. Have been told not to put anything on it other that Sport Cups. Is there an alternative at a lower price point that can give (near) equivalent track capability? Considering getting another set of wheels and running slicks at the track to lower my financial contributions to the Michelin Gods.

Buy some 18 inch wheels and a set of Nitto NT01 and you will be much happier and easier on the wallet.

Agree^
I went with CCW 9"&12" x 18 and wrapped in NT01 245/305 combo. Looks and drives great!
