what are the signs of cardan shaft going out? too much road noise at speed 40m/h and above even after i put tranny in neutral for a sec

i can push up and down the shaft a bit but no visual signs...

by the way, i love my 04 ctt. i got it for less than 30k with 72k miles on its...

there is another quick and dirty fix. put toothpick tips behind the contact points inside the female connector to push the two points closer to create better contact. it works for me. i shouldn't...
