Has the insert broken off the bow and the rail? If it still works on the rail side I would think about putting a little epoxy on the insert and sticking it back into the bow.

Yes I have. I just replaced the remote on my Land Crusier and it took 3 minutes to program. I am happy to pay the hourly labor rate but don't lie to me about the time it takes.
